Entergy confirms drone activity has occurred recently over the company's River Bend Station nuclear power plant in West Feliciana Parish. Gov. Jeff Landry wants the state to have the authority to take down such drones.

Drones are prohibited from flying over nuclear power plants and other “sensitive facilities,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Prairie Island is one of two nuclear power plants in Minnesota. It’s located along the Mississippi River near the Wisconsin border.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant of four to five drones flying around the area of the plant.

Red Wing police officers say four to five drones were spotted flying around a nuclear plant on Wednesday. According to a press release from the Red Wing Police Department, officers with the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant on the 1700 block of Wakonade Drive that four to five drones had been spotted flying around.

President-elect Donald Trump recently said that he would disclose the truth behind the drones in New Jersey as soon as he enters office.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and Red Wing Police Department are investigating reports of drones flying near the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant.
