Widely known for his nonchalant attitude toward the sport, three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic barely, if not at all, talks trash to his NBA opponents — except when it comes to Nikola Jovic. The Miami Heat power forward has been on the receiving end of the superstar's rare smack-talk for many years now.
“We talk about a lot of stuff. He was mad because I signed the extension. He wanted me in Denver,” Jovic joked when asked if he catches up with Jokic during the NBA season. “But, yeah, we talk. Nothing crazy, not much. But we make sure that we stay in touch and we stick by each other because there’s not a lot of us Serbian players around the NBA.”

Inside the growing friendship between Jovic and Jokic: ‘I can say he’s my pretty good friend’
When Nikola Jovic was drafted into the NBA by the Heat, he had never met Nikola Jokic. A lot has changed since then.
In Nuggets vs. Warriors, Nikola Jokic registered a near triple-double to help his side crush the Dubs 129-104 in the NBA Cup Opener.
Most would name Nikola Jokić and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the top three players in the league right now, with reigning MVP and NBA Champion Shai Gigelous-Alexander up there with them. Both players showed why they are revered and respected by anyone who follows the NBA landscape.
