Power restored for MLGW customers after damaged breaker leaves thousands in the dark
: As of 11:45 a.m., power has been restored for most customers affected by the outages. Around 350 customers remain without power. *** MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Over 10,000 Memphis Light, Gas, and Water customers were without power on Wednesday morning.
More than 10K MLGW customers without power
MLGW reported that 10,536 customers were without power due to 27 outages at 10:13 a.m. Most of those outages were reported in Orange Mound and East Memphis. The most affected area was between Poplar Avenue and I-240. In that area, 5,341 MLGW customers lost power.

At one point, over 10,000 customers were without power. Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) said a damaged breaker caused the outage. Crews are working to repair, and officials said they are investigating to see what led to the damage, but they said the problem "does not appear to be weather related."
