For the first time in 12 years, both of Ohio’s Major League Baseball teams have made the playoffs. The Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds are set to play postseason baseball in 2025 after a wild playoff push in the last weeks of the season.

The only time the Reds and Dodgers have met in the MLB playoffs was in the 1995 NL division series. The Reds swept Los Angeles, 3-0, in that series.

The Cincinnati Reds clinched their first postseason berth since 2020 on Sunday. After the Reds fell 4-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, the Mets fell to the Marlins, which allowed Cincinnati to clinch. Immediately after, the celebration in the clubhouse ensued.

After acquiring 1B Josh Naylor at the MLB trade deadline, the Seattle Mariners want to keep him around after beating out the Cincinnati Reds.

Cincinnati Reds first-season manager Terry Francona took the teams to the MLB playoffs for the first time in five years.
