The suspect who drove a car into crowds at a Christmas market in Magdeburg acted alone, according to Reiner Haseloff, Saxony-Anhalt PM. A young child is among two people killed, Haseloff told journalists after the incident, and he could not rule out further deaths.

At least five people, including a 9-year-old child, were killed in the attack, which took place in the eastern city of Magdeburg. The authorities are still seeking a motive.
