7-year-old girl shot by sibling in Kannapolis
A 7-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed by her sibling on Thursday, WCNC Charlotte reports. Kannapolis police responded to a reported shooting on Cabarrus Arms Drive around 7:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
As is policy, the State Bureau of Investigation is in charge of investigating the shooting, and Officer Jones and Officer Tate are on administrative leave.
