The Miami Heat snatched their sixth win of the season on Saturday thanks in large part to Nikola Jovic’s performance. Jovic ushered in one of his best performances in his career up to this point in the Heat’s 136-131 win over the Portland Trailblazers. Jovic scored 29 points, snatched nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists in the win.
The NBA’s two fastest teams as measured by pace not only were off to the races on Saturday night at Kaseya Center, but in a race that went to the wire, with the Miami Heat coming out ahead.
While the Miami Heat blew out the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night, 144-117, marking another impressive victory, the team didn't leave unscathed. As Heat guard Norman Powell is dealing with a groin issue, the latest injury report also features Nikola Jovic and others before Thursday's contest against the San Antonio Spurs.

Heat escapes dizzying, back-and-forth game with win over Blazers to reach 10-game mark at 6-4
Five takeaways from the Miami Heat’s 136-131 win over the Portland Trail Blazers (5-4) on Saturday night at Kaseya Center to close a back-to-back set and improve to 2-0 on its four-game homestand. The Heat reaches the 10-game mark at 6-4 and continues the homestand on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers:
El mexicano Jaime Jáquez Jr. consiguió un doble doble, Nikola Jovic estableció un récord personal de 29 puntos desde el banquillo, y el Heat de Miami se impuso el sábado 136-131 sobre los Trail Blazers de Portland.
It seems like Nikola Jokic tried to do some recruiting for the Denver Nuggets behind the scenes in an effort to bring in one particular name from the Miami Heat: fellow Serbian Nikola Jovic.
“We talk about a lot of stuff. He was mad because I signed the extension. He wanted me in Denver,” Jovic joked when asked if he catches up with Jokic during the NBA season. “But, yeah, we talk. Nothing crazy, not much. But we make sure that we stay in touch and we stick by each other because there’s not a lot of us Serbian players around the NBA.”
Widely known for his nonchalant attitude toward the sport, three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic barely, if not at all, talks trash to his NBA opponents — except when it comes to Nikola Jovic. The Miami Heat power forward has been on the receiving end of the superstar's rare smack-talk for many years now.
