At least two people died in New Jersey in flash flooding following the intense storms that hit the Tri-State area, according to officials. In a news release, the city of Plainfield announced the two fatalities that happened on Monday, July 14.

A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey after slow-moving thunderstorms unloaded a significant amount of rain, resulting in dangerous flash flooding across the Northeast into Monday night. At least 2 were killed.

Forecasters warned more rain and flash flood risk is expected on July 15 after storms flooded out roads the day before.
