The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a procession from the Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park to a cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.

The funeral for Trooper Carns will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway in Orland Park, Illinois. A private Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trooper Clay Carns Memorial fund.

A visitation is planned on Thursday to honor Illinois State Police trooper Clay Carns. The 35-year-old trooper was hit and killed by a car two days before Christmas on I-55 near Channahon. Police say he had turned on his lights and pulled over on the shoulder to pick up debris.

Parked outside was Carn’s cruiser, draped with purple bunting – a silent tribute to his sacrifice.
