Israel killed militant group Hezbollah's top military official in an airstrike on a southern suburb of Beirut on Nov. 23, the Israeli military said, despite a U.S.-brokered truce a year ago.

Israel's military said on November 23, 2025, that it had carried out a strike on a senior member of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon's capital.

Earlier, at the scene of Sunday's strike, Mahmoud Qamati, deputy chair of Hezbollah’s political council, told journalists that a high-ranking militant may have been killed but did not give details.
