The University of Tulsa announced Monday it was reinstating its men's golf program after a nine-year hiatus. The program, which was discontinued following the 2015-16 season, will begin play starting in the fall of 2026. J.J. Spaun delivered a finish to remember on his way to winning the 2025 US Open. The 34-year-old holed a 64-foot putt on the 18th hole at Oakmont Country Club to win the season's third major with a one-under score.
Playing steady golf in a steady drizzle, Chris Fieger Sr. captured his first Berks Amateur Championship on Saturday with a two-round score of 141 at Heidelberg Country Club. Playing on his home course, Fieger shot 70 on Friday and 71 on Saturday, putting him one over par for the two-day event.
