The recent wave of mysterious drone sightings across Europe is the latest in a long history of similar scares. Clusters of UFO reports in Northern Europe have generated occasional panics for over a century. The European done sightings may be a projection of geopolitical tensions between Europe and Russia.
Denmark said drones that halted flights at its main airport on Monday were the most serious attack yet on its critical infrastructure and linked them to a series of suspected Russian drone incursions and other disruptions across Europe.
It wasn’t immediately clear who was behind the flyover. But Denmark’s prime minister and NATO’s secretary-general said Tuesday that Russian involvement couldn’t be ruled out.
