Accustomed to the five-day break that preceded their postseason journeys as a top-two seed, the reigning World Series champs head directly into a best-of-three Wild Card Series this year.

The Dodgers pursuit of back-to-back World Series titles starts Tuesday at Chavez Ravine when they open their Wild Card series against the Cincinnati Reds.

“The Dodgers have agreed to a deal with Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim, the team announced on Friday. The deal is for three years and a guaranteed $12.5 million with an option for 2028-29 that could increase the value of the deal to $22 million,” MLB.com’s Brian Murphy wrote.

The Dodgers will have decisions to make with their bench. If Smith is available at the start of the postseason, there are essentially three spots that could be up for grabs among Rortvedt, Rushing, Conforto, Alex Call and Kim.
