To ensure law and order are maintained in the national capital, the Delhi Police ramped up vehicle checking across the city on Tuesday evening for the New Year 's Eve. Besides, cops have also set up barricades and imposed traffic restrictions particularly in and around Connaught Place.

As per the advisory, parking space will be available on first come first serve basis and vehicles parked in unauthorised spots shall be towed away and prosecuted.

Delhi Police has made elaborated traffic arrangements and restrictions across the national capital, especially at Connaught Place, and deployed nearly 20,000 police and paramilitary personnel in the city on the eve of New Year celebration to maintain law and order.

Delhi Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for New Year’s Eve to maintain safety and orderliness. Approximately 2,500 personnel will manage traffic, curb drunk driving, and enforce vehicle restrictions in areas like Connaught Place.

The Delhi Traffic Police has set up special traffic measures in Connaught Place and India Gate for New Year’s Eve, with vehicle access being restricted from 8 PM on December 31, 2024. A total of 20,000 personnel will be deployed for security purposes.
