A three-judge panel at the federal court in El Paso will begin a hearing on Wednesday to determine if the state's new Congressional maps are constitutional . Plaintiffs, including Democratic lawmakers, are hoping to block the newly drawn Congressional maps approved by Texas Republicans during last month's special session.

Ohio lawmakers will meet Tuesday morning to work on a new congressional map for the state. Lawmakers are meeting on deadline day for them to approve a bipartisan map, but Republicans and Democrats still appear to be far apart on what a fair map looks like.

The same plaintiffs who are challenging the state’s 2021 maps have asked the court to block the new GOP-approved districts from being used in the fast-approaching midterms.

The Democratic National Committee on Monday announced it will send people and money to help a referendum effort aimed at blocking a new congressional map from going into effect.

There are a total of 148 maps that have been submitted by members of the Legislature and members of the public.
