‘Watson’ Review: Morris Chestnut’s Holmes Inheritance on CBS
The title character, as one might deduce, is Dr. John Watson, described in Arthur Conan Doyle’s “A Study in Scarlet” as “brown as a nut”—in this case, actor Morris Chestnut. The reimagined doctor is also an American geneticist who lives in 21st-century Pittsburgh and has all the investigative skills of his former associate—last seen disappearing over Reichenbach Falls with Professor Moriarty.
