Princess Beatrice has announced she has given birth to her second daughter Athena - but she made sure the newborn's face was covered in the photo that was released

Princess Beatrice has given birth to her second child, named Athena, Buckingham Palace has announced. Athena was born several weeks prematurely and weighed 4lb 5oz, but is said to be healthy and doing well.

Countess Athena, now aged 15, is the daughter of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. She is currently ninth in line to the Danish throne and is the youngest grandchild of Queen Margrethe.
