A 47-year-old MTA worker was stabbed, and is in stable condition, after arguing with a man in the Pelham Parkway No. 5 train station around 6 a.m., law enforcement sources said.

NEW YORK - An MTA employee was stabbed Thursday morning inside Pelham Parkway subway station in the Bronx, police say. Officials said the worker was stabbed in the armpit around 6 :10 a.m. after an argument with an unknown individual. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

An MTA worker was stabbed twice in the armpit after a verbal dispute in the mezzanine of the Pelham Park subway station in the Bronx Thursday morning, according to NYPD officials. Police and the MTA said the 47-year-old worker was a station cleaner.

The man who allegedly stabbed an off-duty MTA worker at a Bronx subway station is now also being sought for stabbing another man aboard a train in Manhattan the day before.
