Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (NYSE:AEM) is a leading gold mining company with a strong presence in Canada, Australia, Mexico, and Europe. Founded in 1957, the company operates multiple high-quality mines, including Meadowbank, Meliadine, and Detour Lake in Canada, and is known for its disciplined approach to exploration and capital allocation.

Agnico Eagle Mines has announced the friendly acquisition of O3 Mining in a C$1.67 ($1.17) per share cash transaction, valued at around C$204m. O3 Mining's key asset is the Marban Alliance property near Val d'Or in Québec's Abitibi region, next to Agnico Eagle's Canadian Malartic complex.

Shares of Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. AEM slipped 0.66% to C$117.00 Tuesday, in what proved to be an all-around negative trading session for the Canadian market, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index GSPTSE falling 0.11% to 25,119.71. Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. closed C$6.86 below its 52-week high of C$123.86, which the company reached on October 29th.
