An NFL player set to have a big role for his team this year might be sidelined for a while after a fireworks accident injured his eye. According to reports, Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris was the accident victim during some Fourth of July fireworks celebrations.

ANTIOCH — A Fourth of July fireworks explosion injured Antioch native and NFL running back Najee Harris, multiple sources have confirmed to the Bay Area News Group, but his agent assured fans that Harris would be ready for the upcoming season.

During a Fourth of July celebration, a group gathered in the front yard to light fireworks. One firework tipped sideways and shot toward the garage and stockpile. A quick reaction prevented further explosions.
