We had a wonderful visit to the cathedral after walking round the grounds so we could get a decent idea of the scale of it. There is a fixed admission orice, which is unusual for a cathedral, but the… Full review by MarcusHurley

The suggested donations are given at the kiosk but if you want to go into the shop or the cafe it is possible to do just that without giving a donation. £7.50 or £6.50 for seniors does not seem too bad as it is possible to join a group with a very informed guide who will answer any questions as well as giving the regular tour. Also for the price of the donation, you can spend as long as you wish in the cathedral.
Q:
Are dogs allowed inside?

I'm not so good with heights, however I did manage the York Minster tower tour last year and loved the views from the top. Can anyone tell me how the Salisbury Tower tour compares with the York minster tower tour? TIA
A:
We only visited Salisbury Cathedral at ground level and cannot answer your question. However be brave and enjoy your visit. R
