We went to see Madame Butterfly. It's a whole experience. The people, the place, the atmosphere, the opera itself. Recommended for opera lovers and non lovers! It's a must! Full review by Marcia M

Has anyone eaten at the Grand Tier restaurant? We are going to La Traviata on 5 th March and thought it would be nice to eat there beforehand. The prix fixe menu looks very expensive but the setting looks very elegant. Wonder if we should splash out. Any tips would be gratefully received. Deborah

More thoughts for you. 1. The Grand Tier is coat and tie, upscale. The food is good, so an option. We have eaten there and Fiorello's (great pizza, too) frequently when we go. 2. We just went to see Agrippina at the opening, Feb 6. It was spectacular with two counter-tenors and a trouser-role Nero. Acting superb. Sets great. DiDonato wonderful: owns the stage. If you are nearby, think about it. 3. One place we frequently go to eat in NY is The Simone on East 82nd. Small, cozy, neighborhood place with great food and a good wine list. Consider the Austrian red. Coat and tie usually. No bar but good cocktails, too. Enjoy yourselves... Les

Hi -- We want to take our 11-yr-old granddaughter to the Met this season to see The Magic Flute. Advice on seating would be appreciated. Grand Tier: There are some Row A seats, but a little toward the side. Is visibility for stage ok? There are some Row C, center seats; is it sloped enough that someone in front of her would not be a problem? Parterre: There are some front row seat (slightly to edge). Is it worth paying the price? Thanks much!

Generally, row A in the Grand Tier should be excellent; however, your granddaughter's height may be an issue. I think there is a safety bar in front of all the seats in Row A that might affect her view. Call the box office and ask about the height of the bar.
Q:
Are there still free or discounted dress rehearsals at the Met Opera?
A:
Yes, but not as frequent as they used to. They often post it at the opera, but calling ahead is always the best way to find out. Not everything makes it to the website
Q:
Does anyone know how long tonight’s Andrea Bocelli concert is expected to be?
A:
The last concert I went for Andrea Bocelli was about 2 hours. It was nice.
